We will immerse ourselves in daily yoga practice, nourish our bodies with homemade, healthy meals, and open up our minds and spirits – in the healing presence of each others’ company. This retreat is a special time to move through personal shifts and find the space and openness to reflect, rest deeply, and emerge rejuvenated – with a transformed outlook and fresh zest for life.
Drawing on Eastern philosophy, Balinese wisdom, and inner development practices, each day is carefully themed to cultivate a deeper connection with spirit and self. Through yoga, meditation, intellectual stimulation, as well as reflective and mindful rituals, we’ll harmonize our inner and outer worlds, embracing nature as our guide.

With Annie
Annie first encountered yoga in 2007 in an unconventional way—at a fitness studio. She quickly realized how much the asana practice benefited her body and mind. Soon after Annie discovered the deeper essence of yoga: connecting with body and consciousness through breath, movement, and devotion. Inspired, she joined one of the first yoga studios in Berlin, where she immersed herself in both practice and the study of yoga philosophy through classes and books. In 2017, Annie deepened her commitment by completing her Ashtanga-Vinyasa teacher training in India. After many years of practice, she felt called to share her love of yoga with others and began teaching alongside her primary career as a journalist. Her teaching journey has taken her around the world, including a three-month stint as a resident teacher at a yoga retreat center in Costa Rica. Annie now divides her time between her home town Berlin and Bali, where she lives for a few month each year, fully embracing the island’s rich culture and vibrant yoga community. She practices Ashtanga Mysore style in Bali with highly respected teachers and is passionate about the unique energy and spiritual atmosphere the island offers Yogis from all walks of life. Annie believes in lifelong learning and regularly participates in workshops and trainings with teachers worldwide to continually refine her practice and teaching. Next to teaching Yoga, she is a journalists and writer, working on her first book at the moment.
With Valerie
Today, Yoga anchors Valerie to freedom and peace. But it wasn’t always that way. Her path began with resistance. Despite occasionally practicing, she struggled with the body-focused beauty standards and commercialised communities she often saw – preventing her from embracing a holistic understanding of the practice. Luckily, a friend’s suggestion at a moment of heartbreak allowed her to surrender to the healing power of the practice. When the student was ready, the teacher appeared. Yoga taught Valerie self-acceptance beyond physical form, to hold care for all shades of her emotions. Through the practice, she found an authentic expression that embodies grounding, candor, and tenderness. Eventually, her mat became a dark teal safe haven. One that she could always return to over years of traveling. Alongside teaching yoga, Valerie works as a social impact and community strategist, facilitator and experience designer. Shaped by a lifelong desire to make people feel – to expand beyond the current boundaries of our existence – guiding others in the practice became the natural extension of her path. Whether running leadership development workshops, hosting creative retreats, or savoring morning strolls to her neighborhood café, she carries the wisdom of yoga and mindfulness into every part of her life. She completed her 200h RYS Multi-Style Teacher Training in Bali under the leadership of Sandeep Atri, Katharina Austermann and Kadek Abitha. Since then, she has taught multiple weekly classes across Open Studios Berlin locations and elevated her sequencing and cueing style under the guidance of Jessica Seid.
